As we ventured through
The long journey down
Groups were shattered all over
They started looking and staring
Who are they?
Dressed in bright red uniforms
They started to voice opinions
In different languages, dialect
Malay, Mandarin and more
We
Yes, We
Were no different from 'they'
Dressed in red, speaking different languages
More similarities than difference between
Yes, We
We
They
Yes, They
Friends or Foe?
Hiding their true colours away from us
Friendly yet suspicious
Yes, They
They

Wow! Did anyone catch the use of 'we' and 'they' being repeated and emphasised? Why do you think the poet did that? =)
Oh. maybe he was talking about the 'elite' secondary four students? seems like there is a seperation between the students, 'we' and 'they'. i sense that they are elite because of the line 'Groups were shattered all over' as if 'they' were to give way to the 'we'.
Interesting poem(: Haha and I agree with Davita, there seems to be a seperation between students and the poet kept repeating 'we' and 'they'.
The poem is also different because its a different perspective of 'recess'.
