As the bell rang by,
Sea of students rushing to the counters,
Clanking of plates and bowls could be heard,
Deafening the ears of the others.
While they strutted out of the canteen,
Vast of silence creeping in,
Telling, that its time to leave.
Thus we, sensing the draught of endless waiting.
The remaining seems to be chattering,
Gobbling down their food whilst smiling.
Colossal amount of food,
Disrupting the eyes of the seekers.
Pieces of leftovers marks the end,
As more people fade away from our sight.
Birds flapping their wings,
To sail a flight.
As time goes by, more seemed to clear away
Once again, the tone piped down,
Restoring the actual tranquility of sound.
Hushhh…

In the first stanza, the poet is evoking the sense of "end of recess". From the quotes, " As the bell rang" , "rushing to counters" and " clinking of plates" hinted that the students are quickly putting their plates back to hurry to their classes.
While the others observing seeing them as a "torture" as the clanking of plates seemed to deafen their ears.
From the poem,I can see that the observers had a draught of waiting for the next batch from the quote, "endless waiting"
(to be continued :])
As for stanza 3 & 4,the poet is telling that the people at the canteen seem talkative & please from the quotes, "to be chattering" & "gobbling.. whilst smiling".
She is also emphatising that the amount of food is huge from the word "colossal" which probably tempted the ones observing them,"Disrupting..eyes of..seekers".
For the fouth stanza, she uses imagery as time has passed by.By using the personification phrase, "people fade away" concludes that they are going back to the classroom. Also, "birds flapping their wings..sail a flight" depicts that they are about to leave the canteen.Hence marks the end of the recess. Also imagery was used to describe the surroundings.
The last stanza shows that the canteen return to its original state before anyone entered it,"Restoring..actual tranquility..sound"
The fifth stanza* oops. Anyway the last stanza shows colloquail diction,"Hushhh" Perhaps to show the silence creeping in after the students left.
This hinted to us that she uses in as a small impact that by saying hushhh shows the emptiness & the tone of volume decreasing.
Okay,I am done.*^__^*
From typography, I can see that the poet is trying to emphasise the atmosphere and ambience of the canteen whereby "sea of students rushing to the canteen", "clanking of plates and bowls could be heard".
