Given a task by my teacher To look at my surroundings and jot them down. I stood there blankly looking at everyone cos my mind is confused But, I was surprised by my friends who had already started.

The poet uses colloquial diction to emphasise on the student's feelings and confusion, "cos my mind is confused" by the "given task/ by my teacher".
In terms of typography, the poet uses irregular run-on lines to emphasise on her difficulty in completing the task and also facing a competition with whom her friends whereby "I was surprised by my friends who had already started".
This poem shows us that the poet is confused, worried of not being able to do it, 'I stood there blankly looking at everyone cos my mind is confused'.Maybe the poet do not have confident with herself.
We think that this poem is unique as it has a different perspective than the rest of our poems. It describes from surroundings nearer to her rather than larger scale view. For example, the poet talks about her friends instead of the surroundings.
The poet also uses diction such as using 'cos'. The word 'cos' is a short form that is usually use in text messages.
I find it rather refreshing that the poet focuses on the pressure of completing her assigned task rather than the pressure facing the rest of the student population which she was supposed to observe. It does highlight her confused state of mind and the mounting stress which Zulhilmi, Feng Yuan, Asidah and Era have pointed out or implied in their individual commments.
This poem shows that the person writing this poem is not concentrated on the 'task' that his or her teacher has assigned. He or she is not observing well enough and thus ended up with a confused mind.
The poem was written in the state of confusion as he/she wrote 'cos my mind is confused'.And the poet has left traces of doubts as e/she does not know what to do next,as'I stood there blankly looking at everyone.'as others had already advanced to their work.
The poet is very confused; "I stood there blankly looking at everyone/cos my mind is confused". This poem is talking about a student who is unsure about how to finish the work that is assigned by the teacher.
