The day was hot and warm
the air was still.
Boys and girls,
they made up the student population.
Studying in a stuffy room
They never stop fidgeting.
The noise from the classroom could be heard
as students get bored.
Ignoring the teacher's teaching
some already dozed off.
The exams results were out,
many failed and cried,
"the teacher is lousy, don't know how to teach."

there is a use of broken english in the last line of the last stanza. the poem talks about how students feel when studying in their classrooms.
The poet uses closed form poetry and end-stopped lines.
The first stanza shows us that it was a hot day and thus 'Studying in a stuffy room' and They never stop fidgeting' emphasises that students cannot pay attention because it was warm and stuffy.`
This poem is about how students feel in school.
"Studying in a stuffy room/They never stop fidgeting". This emphasise on how bored students are during lesson time.
"the teacher is lousy, don't know how to teach." This shows the poet using diction.
That's the end ! :D
The run on lines, emphasises ' teacher's teaching/ dozed off" it gives the impression of students not paying attention, and the run on lines gives a stronger impression of this.
Hello,this is Asidah & Fatinah.
The poet uses diction,"some already dozed off" to emphasise the teacher's teaching which is very boring.
This is an end-stopped lines poem.
Wonder who is the mysterious poet[:
The part on '"the teacher is lousy, don't know how to teach."'is directly blaming on the teachers as the poet (to be continued)
The poet uses inconsistent typography whereby in stanza 1, it makes uses of 6 lines followed by stanza 2, 4 lines and stanza 3 a mere 3 lines. Well, I feel that the impact that the poet is trying to evoke an imagery of being in the classroom and also feeling the same way as the students in the school as they easily "got bored". In terms of satire and tone, in the poem, the students feel a sense of insecurity and boredom being in the school as it always is the same whole routine again and again, "Studying in a stuffy room
They never stop fidgeting."
Heyy this is ZuL and alex
The poem is good as it has a inner meaning to it as it talked about the teacher not teachinbg properly as it states that 'the teacher is loudsy' and that 'some already dozed off'.It also teaches us not to regret in what we do.The tone is also very negative and there is not much alliteration or rhyme.
The poem too uses alliteration, "teacher teaching".
I feel that the poem emphatises on the surroundings in school. The quote,"Studying in a stuffy room" evokes the sense of the atmosphere when during lessons.
This poem might probably shows the student's behaviour in school nowadays. It says that,"Studying in a stuffy room
They never stop fidgeting".This might mean that some students felt that they dread going to school. School is not comfortable for some of them.Student will also ignore the teacher's lesson "as students get bored.
Ignoring the teacher's teaching find the lesson is boring."
Somehow they will blame the teacher for not teching correctly."The exams results were out,
many failed and cried,
"the teacher is lousy, don't know how to teach"
Good comments from all!
I like the ending a lot. Isn't it sad that humans have the tendency to play the blame game when things go wrong? Everyone is happy and cheery when everything goes smoothly. Yet, when things go wrong, people start pointing fingers, such as the fault of the 'lousy' teacher who suposedly doesn't know how to teach.
This poem also seem to highlight an element of living life without regrets...something which the students in the poem failed to do. Are they repentant and remorseful? I think not, for they chose to put the blame on others as if things were not within their control.
